Let me explain.
If a student passes their final exams in two academic subjects in English, and also achieves at least 60% on the advanced-level English school leaving exam, a C1-level advanced English certificate is automatically added to their certificate.
During high school, students at Comenius study several subjects in English—Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, IT, History, British and American Civilization, and Business English. What they acquire this way goes far beyond typical advanced vocabulary-it’s much more than that!
Learning these academic subjects in English prepares our students to pursue higher education at foreign universities. Their English skills are truly exceptional!
One of my students—back in seventh grade, just beginning to spread her wings—earned my trust, and I asked her to be the student lab assistant for Chemistry. She grew to love the subject and eventually took the school leaving exam in it at intermediate and advanced levels as well. She graduated this year as a research chemical engineer. Even now, at such a young age, she is a member of a physical chemistry research team developing battery surface technologies.
This September, at the first Chemistry class, I invited two seventh-grade students—who showed great potential—to become lab assistants. I’m already thinking about their future!
